キャンパス内の住居に住むと、洗濯機および乾燥機は無料で好きなだけ使うことができます(Couple w/ childrenの住居は除く). が, 例えば今住んでいる部屋からlaundry roomへ行くまでは2分くらいかかり、混雑時には部屋へ引返してしばらく待たないといけないことがあったりします.

今日受け取ったメッセージによると, web browserで洗濯機・乾燥機が使えるかどうかを確認することができるようになりました (internet monitoring system).

地味なシステムですが、まさに痒いところに手が届くサービス.

As an added feature to the "Just Like Home" Laundry Program, we're
pleased to announce that the LaundryAlert internet monitoring system
is now available to you!

Now you can check the availability of washers and dryers for your
dorm laundry room via the internet. You can also request an email
notification when your laundry is finished or when machines become
available for use. You can even receive the email alerts on your
cell phone, provided it is internet-enabled.

Just go to www.laundryalert.com and
check on the status of washers and dryers, or set up your email
alert today! The passcode for all Stanford students is XXXXXXX.
