浮気: WriteboardからRallypointに乗り換える
先日, 文章を書くのにWriteboardを使ってみることにしたと書いた。実際に使ってみたのだが、「文章をある程度書いて保存をすると突然文章の2/3程度が消えてなくなってしまう」という摩訶不思議な現象が幾度となく発生したため、急遽ツールを変えることにした。
Googleの検索で上位に来たのが, Rallypointというツール。検索単語は "online collaboration word"。

Rallypointの方が, Writeboardよりも、よりOpenOffice/MS-Wordの作業環境に似ていて見たままの文章を出力できる (WYSIWYG)。無料で利用でき、アカウントあたりのディスク容量は25MB。はてなグループの利用を考えたんですが（キーワード機能を使うと効率よくまとめられそうだったので）、プライベート・モードで使うには有料オプションが必要なため今回は見送りました。「低コスト」、「外観」、「堅牢性・安定性」、「使い易さ」というのは選択の大きな基準になります (中でも”無料”というのは大きなウェイトを占める）。こういうサービスや、デスクトップ上のアプリケーションは不具合などの問題に遭遇して一度離れてしまうと、元のものに戻ってくることはなかなかないかもしれない。
「博士論文の書き方」なるサイトもいくつか存在する。いざ自分の論文の構成を考えてみると、２番目のサイトに書いてあるように ENDLESS になりそうな気配がすでに漂ってきてます。

The phrase is important because without it you would be tempted to work on your thesis until everything is perfect, and you would never finish.
